Holiday recipe swap! was created by Sara
It's the holiday season (and yes, Andy Williams now lives in my head...and soon yours), which for many might include baking baking baking. Or roasting. Or deep-frying. Perhaps microwaving or ordering in. Either way you "slice" it, talking about food is almost as fun as eating it. So let's use this space to talk turkey. Tell us about favorite recipes, share a great food memory, confess an infamous food mishap from holidays past (i.e. your friends/family will never let you live down forgetting to remove the giblets before putting the turkey in the oven).

Most importantly, post a picture if you have one!

Here's a recipe from Joanna Gaines, that I'll be making:  Becki's Mac and Cheese Recipe - Magnolia

I got this from my mom, who got it from someone named "Tammie" apparently. Not necessarily a holiday recipe, but I would consider it a tasty side dish. Some people demand it during work potlucks, which is great because it is very easy to throw together.

Escalloped Corn (texture: fancy cornbread)
Preheat Oven to 350
Combine in this order:
2 eggs beaten (whisk)
1/2 c melted butter
1 can whole kernel corn with juice
1 can cream style corn
1 box Jiffy cornmeal muffin mix
Bake in ungreased 9 x 13 pan 55-60 minutes
Handwritten notes: Combine all in a large bowl. Stir with fork - do not use electric mixer. Let butter come to room temperature OR carefully microwave - don't let butter bubble...just soften

I can vouch for Erin's Escalloped Corn recipe. When it makes its appearance at potluck, I'm for sure inwardly cheering!
