Just an idea.  

I was thinking of possibly getting a medium subtype for braille?  If there are books in the library that are in EBAE and that can't be converted to UEB, or likewise, if there are older readers who only know EBAE, it might help to see in KLAS, the book's braille format.  (I'm thinking a subype, rather than the medium itself, so that a M doesn't appear in the exclusions column of the request tab spread)

Most libraries use the subjects to note if the book is EBAE or UEB or Spanish Braille or uncontracted or contracted or whatever the case might be. Since patrons can be set up with a preference for or an exclusion against a subject it's a simple way to make sure they get or don't get a specific type.
