Check your Serials

The following active or newly-announced serials are frequently either missing or in need of an additional caption. 

• If adding any of the following Seral Records as an SDS- (or MOC-), include DB ahead of the caption (ex DBaarp_@chron1@-@chron2@) and include everything before the _ in the Main tab's CallNum field.
• For either record type, make sure the Medium is set accordingly, the Serial Type is set accordingly, and the Publisher is CMLS.
• If the record is in place but you need to update the caption, set the old caption to Active: no, then Add the new caption as Active: yes.

Finally, a slightly special one: the call number for VSD4 Vital Speeches of the Day exceeds the current character limit. The set-up programs can sneak it in, but any changes to the main Title tab will cut it off. 

• If you do not yet have SDS records, make sure the SER record has the correct caption.
• If your SDS(/MOC) record for this serial needs the CallNum corrected, or if you need to make any changes to the title tab, contact customer support so we can put in the data fix. (The CallNum field will be expanded in a future release to prevent this problem.)

Found another serial that likely needs an additional caption. The Nation (NAT4) should have two captions:

• nation_@Chron1@-@Chron2@-@Chron3@
• nation_@Chron1@-@Chron2@ (Active)

If you have already transitioned to MOC: Check your Issues tab. If this year's issues are at the top of the list (and you have not manually created any reserves for them), delete them. Then go to the Captions tab, set the three-chron caption to Active: no, and add the new caption. Overnight, the eDocs will be created against the new caption, and will be sorted correctly as the newest issues.
