Hello,
Are there step-by-step instructions for adding a new patron somewhere? I have the Reader Advisor Manual, but it seems to go right to changing a patron record. I know we click on the first icon on the bottom left of the screen and I was able to add the patron name and some other info, but I could never input the address. I'm missing something and would love to be able to follow along with step-by-step instructions. Thanks! Kate B / MI1M

There are not, because adding new patrons is so dependent on each library's configuration, policies, and procedures; however, most everything you need to know for adding a new patron is in the RA Manual.
For your case, once you've added the patron's name and the other info on the main tab, make sure that you've Saved the record (Ctrl-s or the classic floppy disc icon in the bottom toolbar). Then you can go to the Contact tab and add the address (and adding a new address is included in the RA Manual: see chapter 3.1 - Change a Patron’s Address & Contact Info, on page
.
If you're still having trouble, we can work on this in the next Q&A. Or if you prefer (or if someone else reading this has questions about adding a new patron), you can always contact Customer Support and we'll be happy to help.

Is there a place that lists all the subject codes that can be used for patron reading likes/ dislikes?

Yes, a few:
1. When adding a new preference, set the type to Subject but don't enter a value yet. Use the lookup (binoculars) button, and the full list will be displayed.
or
2. Go to the View menu and select Administration - Headings Maintenance. Please do not make any changes here (unless you are tasked with cataloging), but you can browse the list or Export it to Excel.
Remember that your available subjects and codes are subject to change as we get everything mapped and ready for go live--you might hold off on memorizing codes or printing a full list until the cataloging adjustments are complete.
