PIMMS error with Parental Acknowledgement

I know you are dutifully contacting your juvenile patrons and getting the parental acknowledgements.  But now, you've got this message in your PIMMS error report

MaintainPatron - Edit Failed Parent/Guardian info is required when answer is Yes or No

What does this mean?  Well the Parental Acknowledgement is a two-part process.  First you need to answer Yes / No to the question.  THEN you need to include an Alternate Contact with the type of Parent or Guardian and indicate at least the name of the person giving you (or denying you) the acknowledgement.  So, make sure you've got that special  alternate contact in place! 
 

One related piece of info to remember: if you have more than one Alternate Contact with the subtype of Parent or Guardian, use a Contact Preference to select which one goes with the Parental Acknowledgement. You can add a contact preference using the gold star icon at the bottom right of the screen, or using the Functions menu.

An update from our PIMMS sync guru: the sync is also expecting both a First and a Last Name in the AltContact Name field. Middle names or initials are also handled appropriately, but if there is only one name in the field, you will continue to get the PIMMS error. No "Madonna"s here; please make sure to include the contact's full name.
