We recently went through a massive subject mapping project, which brought many more subjects into the "family". This means many more codes to memorize. One thing we realized is that the search under the Preference tab is very particular...what you're looking for needs to be at the beginning of the description. For example, when we search for "violence" as it used to be, there are no results...you have to remember that these begin with the word "contains". History will pull up "History - Europe", but not "US History - Colonial - 1607-1775". Would anyone else benefit by having a search that works more like keyword/matches?

+1 Absolutely! Being able to keyword search for subjects would be very helpful. Doubly so if it maintains the same functionality of typing a partial value into the box and hitting tab to either have the only possible result filled in or a limited pool of possible results pop up. And this isn't only about finding forgotten subjects, it would also make it easier to find subjects where the unique element is at the end, rather than the beginning.
While we're on the subject, is there any reason not to have the Subject / Author / Series code displayed in the same area of patron preferences? Being able to input either the Value or the Code and have the other fill in automatically is something I appreciate in the Change Headings - Query Set tool.
