May-June TBT distribution via MSCE was created by patrick20k
We sent a notice to the listserv on Friday regarding the problems with the May-June 2025 issue of TBT3 / TBT4 being sent from Multi-State Center East (MSCE). We have been in touch with NLS, and multiple people are working on this. Considering the two-month cycle between issues, there is plenty of time for this problem to be resolved by the time the next issue goes out.
In the meantime, remember that all issues of Talking Book Topics are also added to the collection as DB monographs, allowing you to duplicate single issues on demand. While the May-June 2025 issue is not yet available in the catalog, it should be added soon.
If you have patrons asking where their TBT is, you can add a comment in KLAS (be sure to pick a standard subject line for your library so you can query for it later, something like "June TBT") so you can follow up and send the issue once you have it, if MSCE hasn't gotten it out to them already.
We'll follow up if we get any new information on this issue.

I apologize if this question has been answered elsewhere. I've seen several posts and questions, but still don't have a clear answer. Are we supposed to be changing patrons to TBT4 or should we be keeping them at TBT3?
Thank you!

You do not need to switch to using TBT4 instead of 3, and it will not affect this issue either way.
Because you can't just change the number but have to cancel/re-subscribe patrons to the new record to keep PIMMS happy, most or all KLAS libraries are still using 3. It works just fine and will continue to work. But NLS uses 4, so if you prefer to get switched over to using the same number they put in their communications, we can help you do that. Just be aware that it is not a matter of changing the KLAS ID--it would need to be a new record, with the patron subscriptions cancelled for TBT3 and added for TBT4.
If anyone wants to do this--drop a line to . If you don't want to do it--that is absolutely fine and you can keep using TBT3!
