FYI: Transfer Glitch

We've had reports of a bug with transfers that has occasionally been causing them to be rejected.

The short version: The fix is coming soon, but for now, if a transfer is incorrectly marked "rejected," just try re-activate the patron and try again.

If you have been told a library is still waiting on a record you already transferred, or if you just want to check:
  • Open the Patron Transfer function from the Patron Module, go to the search tab.
  • Enter the information for the patron you are checking on OR set the Transfer Status to "rejected"
  • Press search.

If there are any patrons listed with a Transfer Status of "Rejected" that should have gone through, they were most likely caught by the bug. Simply re-activate their account and transfer it again.

Because this is an intermittent bug, simply trying the transfer again should do it! If you do have any further issues with the transfer, please contact Customer Support with the name and Circulation ID of the patron, as well as which library they're supposed to be transferred to.

We are currently testing the fix and it will be in the next release. In the meantime, we apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you, Katy. Using that search tab we discovered seven rejected transfers since the beginning of December. They should all be cleaned up now. One note, when re-sending a transfer to another KLAS library, the equipment information won't show up in the patron comments field the second time. If the re-transferring library can include any machine information in the Notes field of the transfer screen, it would be very helpful.
