Is DBC going to be added as a medium in KLAS? The May-June 2015 TBT2 has a bunch listed in the front. We like to put any books downloaded for a patron on their has had list. KLAS will not accept DBC as a Has Had.

Unless something has changed, DBC isn't a media type, it's just part of the book number assigned by NLS to delineate nationally produced books (which use DB) from locally produced books. You would enter these using media type "DB".

You are right. It would not be a medium. I did try entering them as a DB and KLAS will not accept them. I receive this message: Unable to find BibRec DB001518 Invalid Bibrec Object ID sent to ipCreateCirTrans routine. I guess the question should be are the DBC's, from other locations, going to be added to the collection? I can see DBC's that the Florida Regional has added in KLAS, but I am not able to see other libraries.

Sarah -
It is possible to load the DBC records, just as we load the DB files on a regular basis. We just need to get permission from the state to do this. I'll drop a note to Daytona and see what happens.
