Between the numbers series titles

In Cataloging Maintenance Title-Bib I would love to see the series sequence field modified to accept a decimal point. This would allow "between the numbers" series titles to go out in order without complicated work arounds. Examples include:

DB101374 Serpentine by Philip Pullman; His Dark Materials #3.6
DB100914 Death at Sea by Andrea Camilleri; Inspector Montalbano #22.5
DB096439 A Place Called Harmony by Jodi Thomas; Harmony #0.5

Yes please. more and more authors are bored and writing tales within tales instead of new tales. Did I say that? Must be salty this morning. Anyway, it makes cataloging a series properly a literal nightmare (too dramatic?). either way, some kind of real and easy way to address this would be great. counting by 5s or 10s is a great solution, but not necessarily comfortable with executing or using the concept.

This is a much-needed update! Voyager even has books listed as .5, 3.5, 11.5, etc. This update would also make it a little easier on the Cataloger.
