Subject: PA-Contact Tab-Alternate Contact
It is not uncommon for the Alternate Contact address to become the temporary address. Currently when this occurs, we have to add a new Address Line. It would be more efficient if we could instead use the add Contact Preference tool to designate the Alternate Contact as the temporary mailing address.
Examples when this would be helpful:
1. The patron will be temporarily staying at the son or daughters house that is also the alternate contact.
2. The patron has passed away and the alternate contacts address is now primary mailing address for retrieval of equipment and materials.
Along the same lines, the alternate contact’s phone number is currently nested within the Alternate Contact type making it also unavailable to use as a temporary contact number without re-entering it as a separate Phone- Contact Type. The alternate contact information fields need to take into account that alternate contacts may have more than one contact number (i.e. Work, Home, Cell).
