Narrator on DB133058 is Stephen Van Doren. Neither BARD nor Voyager have this info. I downloaded and played the book on BARD Mobile to get narrator info.
True. But my confidence in NLS doubling back and comprehensively filling in metadata is pretty low these days. I *feel* like I'm seeing a lot of blank narrator and runtime fields.
This book went up on BARD in Dec 2025 or Jan 2026. Shouldn't it be "full"/complete by now?
Overall, this scenario doesn't make sense to me for 2 reasons. (1) The only thing that's "in process" is a full MARC record. The DB is live on BARD. The cart is at the market waiting for the horse. (2) If BARD records are imported from Voyager, how is the runtime on BARD but not Voyager? My guess is maybe the upload process of the digital files gives BARD V.I.P. access to the runtime in the book's OPF file...? (These are rhetorical questions ...unless you - or anyone else - knows the answers.)
All of this is strange to me. In an era where things are being automated and audio is already produced, I would think the only metadata that might require a 2nd pass (aka a "Full MARC record") would be an accurate runtime. EVERYTHING else should be there at acquisition. Admittedly, I don't know how the sausage is made though.
