New Books for BARD from the past

Hi! 
We are redoing locally recorded books for BARD. Erin noted in the series work thread that when she goes back to the past, she finds the quality is not as high as it could be. Our editor is discovering the same thing.
What do you do if the narrator is unavailable for corrections? Do you "dub in" someone else voice? Or do you let some things go, with a forgiving ear? How deeply do you go into redoing the past, beyond adding metadata and markers, and fixing sound levels?

Hi Maureen,
We have found the same issue; old recordings are not as good as current ones. This will probably apply in the future 10 or so years again. We reviewed our entire collection of locally recorded books. If it was poor quality and still important to the collection, we did re-record it. If it was passable, judgement call here, we kept it in the collection. If it was not a good recording and not important to the collection, we removed it. Hope
