Do you have two catalog records for "Old Carver Ranch" by Max Brand? It's more likely than you might think!
This title was initially submitted as DBC07029, before being corrected to DBC07209. We're taking care of this for Keystone-hosted libraries, but if you're self-hosted...

- If you only have the incorrect version, you can just use the Change KlasID function on the Tools menu to update it to DBC07209.
- Update the title of the incorrect version to include "See DBC07209" or similar.
- Use the Change KlasID function to add an x to the end of the ID, making it "DBC07029x" (this will allow the real DBC07029 to be imported if it is uploaded to BARD later on).
- Delete the record.

One of those weeks, apparently?
This advice goes for "Empty: a memoir" as well. The correct KLAS ID is DB099693, but you may have it under the incorrect ID DB100512 as well.

One more for the list:
DB100982 is the bad one, DB102488 is the correct one for "The Sentinel"

Hi Katy,
Since we are hosted, we shouldn't have to worry about the corrections to these records, correct?
Thanks,
Craig

We have both records, and are hosted. I reported "Empty..."

Correct, Craig--Keystone-hosted libraries don't need to worry about these... but can only start going through to fix them once they're reported (thanks for alerting us to "Empty", Maureen!), so let us know if any more turn up.

How does deleting a record interact with the LinkTitle function?
With The Sentinel, Grisham's A Time For Mercy, and I think a few more, the first record existed and circulated for months before the updated record was added. In these cases, we linked the titles to prevent patrons being sent the same book again because of their Author preference. Will deleting the older record break the HasHads added by the link? Or are those permanent once created, even if the older title record is completely removed?

Ooh, great question, Sam!
If the incorrect title has already circulated, you may need to use the Reissue function to move the HasHads to the correct KLAS ID.
