Per the 2020 NLS Conference, titles acquired from foreign agencies via the Marrakesh Treaty will be given a DBG or BRG book number.
My understanding is that MARC records for these titles are not yet available, but KLAS will need title records to be able to capture the BARD load statistics for any Marrakesh titles. Plus, of course, you will need the BibRecs to provide these titles via Duplication on Demand once the files are available for R-Sync.
In the meantime, there's something you can do to be ready: set up the new prefixes!
This will ensure that, even before MARC records are made available to the network libraries, you can create skeleton BibRecs as needed when loading your BARD stats. It will also allow the MARC records to load correctly once we do get access.
Here's what to do:
1. Open View > Admin > Code Maintenance
2. Select Code Name: HID->Med
3. Add a Record
User Code: DBG
Description: Global DB
Code Xref: DB
4. Save the Record
5. Repeat for BRG
As always with this kind of thing, just let us know if you'd rather our Customer Support folks take the lead.
