NEW Files was created by acnickless
The document that includes the MARC files has a line that reads "To avoid overwriting your cataloging data, we are removing the older NEW files. Updated versions of the New records will eventually be included in the Completed file that NLS provides." Since there is no NEW file this month, does this mean that as of October we no longer have the NEW file to load? I wanted to confirm.
Second, if the end of the NEW files started this month, are those records for the first October copy allotment now included in the Completed file? I wanted to check because our reader advisors typically are itching to add reserves for patrons on those titles as soon as we can view the copy allotment. And then, what about the mid-month copy allotment NEW File? When will we get those records?

There is no NEW file yet this month just because NLS had not posted one yet when we retrieved the other files. We will keep an eye out for it and it will be posted as soon as it is available.
That line isn't referring to any change in how the files are done, it just means that 6-month-old and older NEW files are not worth loading, because those titles may have already had completed versions. It doesn't apply for anyone who loads the files as they come out; it's for someone who hasn't loaded MARC files in a long time and who is catching up.
