A review of this year's Users’ Group Directory will find that the North Carolina Library for the Blind & Physically
Handicapped has been a KLAS User since 1983. Following not long behind is the Perkins Library in 1986. The next libraries joining the fold were Utah and New Mexico in 1996.

I see that you have already gotten an answer, however having had it drummed in me....

North Carolina was the first library, in 1983. We still have some of the old manuals and specifications lurking about in my office.

I'm a little late to the party but my answer is North Carolina. I am not sure why I know that but it seemed correct. Now that I am comparing to the other responses.

Not to worry. You're never too late as long as you answer before Friday at 5 pm. Then we put your names into a hat and we draw out the winner. It's very scientific :-)

Everyone has a chance to win as long as they answer correctly.
