15:28:30 From Sarah Smedley to Everyone: Hi everyone! 15:28:35 From Sarah Smedley to Everyone: Don't have a mic but will ask through chat. 15:29:57 From SHERI - ISL to Everyone: Hi! I also do not have a mic, but will ask questions through chat! 15:31:32 From NC1A-Craig Hayward to Everyone: So John C isn't laying on the beach somewhere? :-) 15:32:15 From James Gleason to Everyone: John O. is on vacation, not John C. 15:32:18 From Katy Patrick to Everyone: haha, we do let him out occasionally 15:35:12 From NC1A-Craig Hayward to Everyone: Welcome to the club Michael!!!! 15:39:04 From Katy Patrick to Everyone: flopac.klas.com 15:45:37 From NC1A Joshua Berkov to Everyone: "Change Headings - Query Set" 15:46:26 From Catherine A. Durivage to Everyone: Katy - can you share again where you find the text files of just book numbers? 15:47:20 From Katy Patrick to Everyone: Those are on the Marc Records Corrections page--I'll grab the link 15:47:43 From GA1A - Keith Haun to Everyone: If I'm understanding correctly, they just have a single "Talking Book Topics" subject heading that is removed and reapplied each month. 15:48:09 From Katy Patrick to Everyone: https://klasusers.com/knowledgebase/marc-record-corrections-2022 Per usual, you will need to be logged in to access the downloads 15:48:31 From NC1A-Craig Hayward to Everyone: That makes sense. That keeps thing simple enough to add and remove 15:48:35 From Katie Saldutte to Everyone: Have you gotten any patron feedback? Just curious 15:49:32 From NC1A-Craig Hayward to Everyone: Is there a process in place for bulk removal as well, so you can target those? 15:50:18 From Katy Patrick to Everyone: Yes--the Add/Remove Headings tool can both add the subject heading, and remove it when it's no longer current 15:51:27 From NC1A-Craig Hayward to Everyone: So you can load the batch you did previously and follow the same process to remove them? 15:52:04 From Katie Saldutte to Everyone: That makes sense. 15:52:27 From Catherine A. Durivage to Everyone: I have been creating a text file each month but keep the genres to help enter requests that come on the paper forms, especially for patrons who select every title under a specific genre. But for this process, having just the numbers work. 15:52:53 From NC1A-Craig Hayward to Everyone: I like the idea of genre specific runs 15:53:39 From NC1A-Craig Hayward to Everyone: We've been looking for ways to keep things more manageable 15:54:08 From Catherine A. Durivage to Everyone: I happy to share and will upload to the forum. 15:54:19 From Drea Callicutt (she / her) to Everyone: Thanks Catherine! 15:55:07 From Katy Patrick to Everyone: Oregon's opac: https://talkingbooks.osl.state.or.us/ 16:01:43 From MO1A-Lori Brown to Everyone: I like the idea of newest books first for auto patrons. 16:01:59 From Katie Saldutte to Everyone: Me too! 16:02:58 From NC1A-Craig Hayward to Everyone: That why we call our program Books on Demand instead of duplication on demand to focus on how the patron sees things rather than the staff process 16:05:11 From NC1A-Craig Hayward to Everyone: We never use the term auto select or turnaround with patrons 16:09:31 From jfry to Everyone: We have subscribed some of our members to the audio TBT series in KLAS. Will the future issues be added to KLAS? From Jamie at NY2A 16:09:35 From Crystal Grimes to Everyone: Same here, we got a lot of people worried that they were canceling all of talking books. 16:09:36 From NM1A Sam to Everyone: Yes! I took so many calls from patrons afraid we were shutting down. 16:11:07 From Sarah Smedley to Everyone: We also 1-2 patrons log into NFB and listen to the TBT over the phone. 16:12:19 From Katy Patrick to Everyone: DB109175 is the July/August TBT issue 16:12:29 From CO1A--Andrea Loughry to Everyone: Colorado, too, experienced a lot of panic that we were shutting down. 16:13:11 From SC1A Dianne Keadle to Everyone: Our people thought we were shutting down too 16:13:33 From NM1A Sam to Everyone: Has anyone looked to replace TBT with something that also includes local recordings, global titles, and all other newly added books? 16:13:40 From Sarah Smedley to Everyone: Your welcome!!! 16:14:06 From CO1A--Andrea Loughry to Everyone: I converted all of my department of corrections patrons to the audio version immediately. The prison ADA department provides each facility library with one hard copy printed from the NLS website. General public seems more resistant to the audio version. 16:16:22 From CO1A--Andrea Loughry to Everyone: What is anyone doing for patrons w/out access to any type of computer/internet? 16:18:34 From NM1A Sam to Everyone: Audio edition & auto-select. I especially emphasize that we can send 100+ books at a time to choose from. It also seems to help to remind patrons that auto-select doesn't prevent them from placing an order and having it go right to the top of the list. 16:26:02 From BERDINA NIETO to Everyone: Thank you everyone! Lots of great ideas! 16:26:05 From Sheri IL1A to Everyone: Thank you everyone for your ideas and input!!!!!!! 16:26:29 From jfry to Everyone: thank you
